Lichfield City FC’s manager says he takes full responsibility after his side were thumped in their second game of the season.
Jamie Hawkins’ men had opened the season in style with a win over Racing Club Warwick – but came down to earth with a bump after a 6-1 defeat to Heather St Johns.
But the boss said he was at fault for the loss.
Hawkins said: “I am shouldering the blame and not the players.
“Yes, there were some below par performances but following a good performance and result on Saturday I decided to change personnel, and our approach to the game which didn’t work.
“The sending off in the first half was silly and didn’t help matters but any blame should not be on the players and lie firmly at my door.”
City will hope to return to winning ways when they face Littleton on Saturday (August 11).
