Lichfield City FC continued their strong – and entertaining – start to the season with victory in a six-goal encounter with Paget Rangers.
Goals from James Taylor, Drew Aiton, Max Black and Toumani Sidibe had put Jamie Hawkins’ men four goals to the good and seemingly cruising towards three points.
But after City were reduced to nine men, goals from Ryan Walker and Paul Hughes gave Paget hope of rescuing something from the game, but Lichfield held on to claim three points.
The result leaves City fifth in the Midland Football League Division One after their first four games, but level on points with the four teams above them, including NKF Burbage who they face in their next match on Tuesday (August 21).
