Staff at Lichfield Cathedral School are celebrating after 94% of all GCSE grades were at A* to C grade.
The results also saw 21% of students achieve at least one grade 9 – A* – result.
Headteacher Susan Hannam said she was delighted the efforts of students had been rewarded.
“Following our excellent A Level results last week, these outstanding GCSE results are a magnificent tribute to our pupils, staff, parents and governors,” she said.
“I am so thrilled for the students and these results demonstrate how pupils and teachers have risen ably to the challenges of the new, more difficult, GCSE qualifications.
“The students really responded well to excellent teaching and staff that believed in them.
“Our Sixth Form will once again be bulging with talent across the board.”
