A series of centenaries will be celebrates at Lichfield Heritage Weekend.

Votes for women, Armistice Day and the first woman to be ordained in a congregational church will all form the backdrop for the event on Saturday and Sunday (September 22 and 23).

The event will see free admissions and events across the city, including tower tours at Lichfield Cathedral, guided walks and children’s activities.

There will also be a programme of entertainment taking place.

Councillor Ian Pritchard, Cabinet member for economic growth, environment and development services, said: “Lichfield Heritage Weekend is a chance to visit local places of interest that may not always be open to the public and to enjoy special activities and events at city visitor attractions.

“There’s something for all ages, and many of the activities are free, so it’s a great opportunity to enjoy a day out in Lichfield.”
