A Lowry print discovered in Burntwood has sold at auction in Lichfield.

The artist’s signed work The Football Match fetched £1,900 when it went under the hammer at Richard Winterton Auctioneers.

Meanwhile a 19th Century Swiss musical box sold for £2,000.

Senior valuer Sarah Leedham said: ““The works of art and collectables section of the sale yielded some surprises and some pleasing results.”

The next fine and decorative arts sale takes place at The Lichfield Auction Centre is on December 12. Free general valuations take place at Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, every Tuesday from 9.30am to 4pm.
