Lichfield City FC miss out on chance to extend lead at the top after defeat at Uttoxeter Town

Lichfield City FC missed out on the chance to stretch their lead at the top of the table after a 3-1 defeat at Uttoxeter Town.

A defeat for nearest rivals Heather St Johns had opened the door for Jamie Hawkins’ men, but they failed to take advantage.

Two goals from James Curley and one from Ollie Richie had already put the game out of City’s reach when Drew Aiton netted a consolation from the penalty spot.

The result ends Lichfield’s run of four wins in all competitions. They return to action on 13th October with a trip to Studley.
