Nearly 300 late 19th and early 20th Century prosthetic glass eyes will go under the hammer at Hansons Auctioneers today (15th October).

The lot – found at a valuation event at the Hedgehog Inn in Lichfield – are expected to fetch between £1,000 and £1,500.

Adrian Rathbone, associate director at Hansons, said: “This find really took our eye, as you can imagine – it’s so quirky and different.

“This is an important historical find and I hope it soars to success for our vendor at auction.”
