Lichfield District Council welcomed 28 people to a special event designed to encourage them to think about standing for a seat on the local authority in next May’s local elections.

Participants learned about the role, the skills they might need and other aspects of life as an elected representative.

Diane Tilley, chief executive of Lichfield District Council, said: “Thank you to everyone who joined us for the two sessions.

“We hope they will inspire a range of people to consider standing for a seat on the district council in next year’s local elections.”
