Young footballers in Lichfield boosted by £650 kit donation

Budding footballers in Lichfield are celebrating after scooping a grant to buy a new kit.

Players from Lichfield round Table Football Club collected the award from Central England Co-operative’s Community Dividend Fund.

The money – from a pot of £42,000 dished out to 36 good causes across the country – will help provide a new playing strip.

Coach Ady Auty said: “It’s great to be working with a local business that believes in supporting its community.

“The donation affords us the opportunity to provide the team with much needed kit.”

The scheme awards grants of between £100 and £5,000 every three months.

Lichfield Boley Park Food Store Manager Matt Simpson said: “We are delighted that these great projects and good causes have been handed a grant for the fantastic work they do in the community.”
