A Lichfield shoemaker is celebrating after seeing her latest collection sell out before even hitting the shelves.

Shoes by Shaherazad’s new Boss Lady collection saw four designs sold out, despite it being a month before they’ll be ready to wear.

Owner Shaherazad Umbreen donates the profit from sales of each pair of shoes to help young girls and women to access education has now supported 5,000 women from around the globe thanks to her sales.

“For me my shoes will always be about more than just a product,” says Shaherazad, who works with a metalworker in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter to craft the designs.

“By design and ethos, Shoes by Shaherazad empower women to make a difference.”

The designer – who was recognised as an “exceptional British talent” in the Footwear Friends Annual Awards – is now looking to develop the collection further with new lines.

“These shoes are all about empowering yourself and empowering others,” said Shaherazad.

“A She-Boss who treats herself to my shoes is also helping someone living in poverty to gain a chance to become a she-boss too,” she said.
