The folk star – who broke through with his award-winning debut album Sweet England – will be in the city on 10th November.

A spokesperson for Lichfield Arts said: “Subsequent albums embraced everything from grime to Johnny Marr-esque guitar pop, but at their heart was always Jim’s unmistakeable soulful and yearning voice, singing old songs in a new way.

“In recent years Jim has collaborated with such folk music luminaries as Andy Cutting, Patsy Reid, Martin Simpson and Nancy Kerr on the hugely successful Cecil Sharp Project and similarly acclaimed Elizabethan Project.

“This new addition to our programme will put one of the leading young folk performers centre stage at Lichfield Guildhall.

“He last played here as a member of False Lights and they bought the house down.

“im Moray’s distinctive vocals, musical talents and forward thinking approach to the canon means that this will be an unmissable evening for anyone who likes good music played with heart, vitality and soul.”
