Lichfield is getting ready to switch on its Christmas lights.

A day of activities is planned ahead of the big moment at 5pm on Sunday (25th November).

Food and festive stalls will be on offer in the city centre from 11am, with live music and performances from 2.30pm.

The cast of Dick Whittington at the Lichfield Garrick will be on stage from 4.45pm with a flying visit from Santa following the switch on.

Who cares about Santa?

Will there be lots of councillors and loads of gold chains?

Hilarious Steve, especially when the lights were switched on and the kids were expecting to see Santa but instead got the world’s slowest thank-you speech from the Mayor. Patting his Tory pals on the back. They looked like the world’s worst fairground shooting gallery standing at the back of the stage in their chains.

I wasn’t there, so please do enlighten me. Was ‘Christ’ included in this? I’m guessing not.
