Chasetown FC picked up another vital victory as they won at Kendal Town.

Both sides had their chances in an eventful first half.

Billy Akrigg fired rattled the Chasetown crossbar with a slight touch onto the woodwork from goalkeeper Curtis Pond.

The Scholars were handed a great chance to take the lead when George Cater struck the post with a low shot and the rebound was adjudged to have been handled on the line by Bradley Carroll who received a red card. But Matt Gardner saw his penalty saved by Stuart Dixon.

Chasetown finally got the breakthrough goal with a superb though ball from Danny Cocks and George Cater slid the ball through Dixon’s legs.

Kendal almost levelled with an effort that struck post and bar.

Chasetown rode their luck a bit and Kendal had a goalbound effort deflected over the bar late on.
