Chasetown FC failed to make an extra man count as they went down 2-1 at Radcliffe.
The first 20 minutes were very even with chances at either end. Curtis Pond saved well for the Scholars from Elliott Rokka and then Will Whieldon volleyed just wide.
But Radcliffe took the lead in the 26th minute when Harry Goode cleared off the line but Tunde Owolabi fired home the rebound.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 38th. A quick break saw Ben Wharton play in Matty Crothers who squared it for Elliott Rokka to tap it in.
Radcliffe were reduced to ten men when Prince Haywood was adjudged to have raised his hands towards winger Danny Cocks.
The Scholars tried to take advantage of the extra man and Callum Cockerill-Mollett headed narrowly off the target.
Chasetown deservedly pulled one back when sustained pressure saw George Cater square the ball to Dan Vann who slid home his first Scholars goal.
The visitors battled on but the decisive equaliser eluded them.
