Lichfield Winter Wonderland event shuts early after “unforeseen circumstances”

A Christmas event in Lichfield has closed early due to what organisers say are “unforeseen circumstances”.

The Lichfield Winter Wonderland was designed to be a festive treat with an ice rink, bars and fair rides.

It had been due to run until January, but customers are now being advised to seek a refund through their bank.

A statement on the event’s website said: “Café International Limited T/A Lichfield Winter Wonderland is very disappointed to advise that due to unforeseen circumstances the attraction has been forced to close with immediate effect.

“Following the closure of the business, the directors have instructed Libertas Associates Limited, a firm of licensed insolvency practitioners, to manage an orderly wind down of the business’ affairs.”

A volunteer wrote this. Say thanks with a coffee.

Reading the reviews. Total waste of money. Nothing worked. Totally overpriced.

I bet Councillor Wilcox is on the phone to them, to make them consultants for Friarsgate 2.

It’s amazing how people that do nothing for the community can moan about persons that do!!!

I see they’ve also canned their Cathedral Crepes operation near B&M car park – good riddance. I hope they never reappear at a food festival again, they’re very unwelcome in this city after ripping off so many innocent families.

It would be interesting to know how much the council tax payers of Lichfield have paid towards this mess.

Do the council do any checks on the people they are allowing to create these events?

It is yet another embarrassment for Lichfield. A disaster like this will take many years for visitors to trust anything that is associated with Lichfield.

Reading a number of articles, there are a number of traders who have lost many thousands of pounds.

Steve i was under the impression this was a private business that had simply booked the park for an event.

I wonder how much Lichfield council made in hiring them the public park for this private event
