Labour peer Lord Andrew Adonis will be at a public debate at Wade Street Church at 7pm on Monday (25th February).

It has been organised by the People’s Vote Lichfield group.

A spokesperson said: “The discussion will cover the current state of affairs in Parliament and in Brussels, how a People’s Vote can be obtained and won, and why remain is the only viable option for the UK.”

Tickets to the event are free and can be booked online.

This would be a good meeting to attend if you were undecided about Brexit or you’re having regrets about voting to leave.

It will be lovely to hear from a Non-Executive Board Member of HS2.

A grand a day is nice work if you can get it.

After over two years of negotiation and an impass not even considered initially (the Northern Ireland border) it is patently obvious that every obstruction will be presented to obstruct Britain leaving. The only incentive the EU has in keeping us in is the potential loss of trade to the other twenty seven countries and the levies we contribute. The parliamentary party that called the referendum (together with the support from the rest of parliament) are now regretting the decision. The public spoke, not on the Irish border or the economy but on many issues which are now being ignored but in effect amounts to our autonomy over domestic affairs. It is widely believed that the leave majority was relatively small but Scotland voted on an agenda substantially different to the rest of Britain and very SNP orientated. Without that distortion the majority is substantially greater. Debate is good and democratic, but subverting the will of the people and the tone in which it has been conducted is not. The history of the outcome of referendums for governments is poor (as is illustrated by this one). I think it highly unlikely that another “people’s vote” will take place in the near future.

I cannot believe this man has the audacity to show his face in Lichfield after inflicting the horrendous white elephant HS2 on the country and Lichfield. He didn’t listen to our views on that, so why should we be interested in what he has to say on Brexit.

Whether you voted remain or leave having this man in Lichfield is thoughtless and inappropriate being his doing we have HS2 destroying a beautiful countryside in our part of Staffordshire.
Absolute disgraceful and should be told to stay away

If her was here promoting a “People’s Vote” on HS2, he would definitely get my support! Otherwise I entirely agree with Disgruntled Lichfield Resident.
