Lichfield City FC face a crucial week in their bid to be crowned champions as they take on their two main rivals.

Jamie Hawkins’ men sit third in the Midland Football League Division One, having amassed 61 points in their 27 games so far.

But they sit seven points adrift of leaders Heather St Johns who visit Brownsfield Park on Saturday (2nd March).

They then travel to second placed Racing Club Warwick the following Saturday, who currently sit on 66 points but have a game in hand.

Two wins would throw Lichfield firmly back into the mix at the business end of the table, but they’ll need to avoid a repeat of their 6-1 humbling at Heather St Johns back in August if they’re to keep their title charge on track.

But City do go into the game full of confidence with a run of seven wins and one draw in their last eight league outings.
