Singer and runner Kate Slater is combining her two loves in aid of charity.
This Saturday (30th March) she will be singing as part of Lichfield Gospel Choir in a special fundraising concert she has organised at Wade Street Church in Lichfield.
She will follow this on 28th April by taking part in the London Marathon.
The funds raised by both events will go towards Refuge, a charity which gives support for women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Kate, who has sung in the alto section of the Lichfield Gospel Choir for more than five years, has taken on the London Marathon in aid of the charity for the past years.
The choir will present a varied programme when they perform at Wade Street Church this weekend, including gospel, spiritual and African music.
A spokesperson said: “The 100 strong Lichfield Gospel Choir have been received with delight wherever they have performed.
“A joyous, entertaining and uplifting evening is promised at Wade Street Church.”
Tickets, costing £10, for the concert are available online at http://www.buytickets.at/lichfieldgospelchoir. Proceeds will go to Refuge.
