Time is running out for candidates to register for the local elections in Lichfield and Burntwood.
The deadline for the receipt of nominations at Lichfield District Council is at 4pm on Wednesday (3rd April).
The final list of candidates for each of the wards will then be released later in the week.

Please god – I’ll vote for ANYONE that isn’t a current member of the the city council!!!! Too much failure, too much money wasting (Friarsgate wasted £12m of taxpayers’ money), too much incompetence. If anyone reading this is in any doubt of this comment – just search the very pages. Every week – more reports of councillors caughtt up in unprofessional behaviour. Lichfield – our beautiful city deserves better. At present we’re a laughing stock. Shocking.
We need less of the boring, old same faces, and more new, fresh, younger people to take charge!
Very much agree with LichLady. It would help if individuals and different members of the same families were prohibited from belonging to different level councils (town, district, county etc) in the same area. It often looks like a clique or a closed-shop.
