Lichfield City FC produced a strong performance to secure all three points against NKF Burbage.
City got their noses in front early on when Joe Hartshorne supplied a cross for Dan Sheppard to open the scoring.
Max Black sent an effort just wide as Lichfield went in search of a second before the break.
If City had the better of the first half then the hosts were determined to make amends in the second as they put the visitors under early pressure after the restart.
Lichfield had to clear an effort off the line as they sought to protect their advantage.
But there was a good chance to kill off the threat when City won a penalty, but Dan Griffiths saw his spot kick saved.
Griffiths almost made amends later in the half as his strike hit the post before Black repeated the trick from the follow up.
But Lichfield weren’t made to pay and secured the three points.
