Young players from Lichfield Rugby Club had a ball when they lined up on the pitch as the guard of honour for Leicester Tigers.
The junior sportsmen flew the flag at Welford Road as Tigers and their opponents Bristol Bears made their way onto the field for their Gallagher Premiership encounter at the weekend.
James Gray, from Lichfield RFC, said the experience of being in front of a 20,000 crowd had been “brilliant”.
“The guys have enjoyed the match and being on the pitch,” he said. “Being this close to the action and feeling included in such a big club shows the group that there is a way through.
“Our club feels close to Tigers and we feel that they look after us from the top down.
“Despite the size of Tigers, we feel like this is our local club, they don’t feel a millions miles away.”
