Labour have won control of Burntwood Town Council.

They were already seven candidates up before the votes were counted after a number of uncontested ward.
But the council went from the Conservatives having overall control to just six councillors.

Remarkable performance by the Gorstey Lea Griffins in the face of a Conservative meltdown.
Thanks Rob and a Glasgow Wave to you too from my wife and me.
Highfields area required over a 25% swing to Labour. If you look at the three wards (Gorstey Lea, Hunslet and Highfields) the % for Tories and Labour was similar and no great improvement in an area where the Lichfield-domiciled Tories felt no need to canvass. While we accept that there was no chance of a victory, we did not run from defeat as the Tories did.
And if ever your lack of class was in doubt, it isn’t now.
I don’t comment on class, I leave it to the warriors.
