Labour councillors say they intend to keep holding the Conservatives to account after being re-elected to Lichfield District Council.
Colin Ball was re-elected alongside stablemate Dave Robertson in the Curborough ward.
There was further success in the ward as all three city council seats also went to Labour, with Matthew Field winning as well.
Cllr Ball said “I was both humbled and honoured by the confidence that the people of Curborough have shown in me to elect me to serve them for another four years.
“I’m also really pleased that Dave will be joining me at the district council and that both he and Matthew Field will be with me at the city council.
“We are all going to work very hard for everyone in Curborough and help them as much as we can – and also hold the Tories vigorously to account at both councils.”
Cllr Robertson added: “I’m really pleased to be joining Colin at the district council, so that I can continue to support him fully in public in the same way that I have done behind the scenes for the past few years.”
All three say they will continue with a monthly advice surgery at the Jigsaw Community Hub on Dimbles Lane on the third Friday of the month, as well as holding street surgeries and publishing a regular newsletter.
Cllr Field said: “I’m really looking forward to working with Colin and Dave on the city council and will do my utmost to make sure that I repay the trust that the voters in Curborough have put in me.”
