A new councillor says he is “humbled” to have won a seat at Lichfield District Council.
Wai-Lee Ho was one of two Conservative candidates to be victorious in the Highfield ward as the party retained overall control of the local authority.

And he told Lichfield Live that he had not taken anything for granted during his election campaign.
“I’m very humbled by the trust placed in me by the voters, especially in such uncertain times,” he said.
“It will be a privilege to serve the public as both a district and parish councillor.”
Cllr Ho added that his election was also a milestone for the local authority.
“It’s also a great honour to be the first ever councillor of Chinese heritage to be elected onto Lichfield District Council and Hammerwich Parish Council,” he said.
“Nevertheless, the important thing now is to start delivering to the public what they expect and deserve.”
Congratulations! Now hold Wilcox to account for his incompetence and help protect the Green Belt in other areas than St Matthews. You seem intelligent enough to avoid the nodding donkey syndrome displayed by other councillors in the past.
Excellent message John
