A range of half-term sporting activities for young people are taking place across Lichfield and Burntwood.

The Getin2it programme has been organised by Lichfield District Council during the Whitsun break.

It includes sessions in sports such as archery, tennis, multi sports, football, boxing, parkour and trampolining.

The sessions run at locations including Burntwood Leisure Centre, the skate park at Cherry Close, Chase Terrace Park and Redwood Park in Burntwood, as well as at King Edward VI Sports Centre, Beacon Park, Oakenfield green space and Life Church in Lichfield.

Richard King, director of community and place at Lichfield District Council, said: “We know how important it is for young people to put down their devices and to connect with others in person. Not only does it improve their fitness, but it’s also great at improving their social interaction.

“This is why we are encouraging young people to come along and have a go at our range of low cost sessions that have proved really popular over the years.”

The sessions cost between £1 and £2 or are free and do not need to be booked in advance.
