Organisers of new women’s football scheme in Burntwood will be hoping England’s World Cup Lionesses will inspire more people to start playing the game.
Phil Neville’s women kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 2-1 win over Scotland at the weekend.
The new sessions at Burntwood Leisure Centre aiming to get women over 30 playing have also kicked off.
The weekly sessions take place from 7pm to 8pm on Fridays.
Councillor Liz Little, Cabinet member responsible for leisure, said: “This is a great initiative to get more women playing football.
“The Moms Play sessions are also a good way to meet other women, improve your football skills, and to take part in healthy exercise.”
Each sessions costs £2.50 and there is no need to book.
