Spire Little Aston Hospital chose the organisation as its charity partner back in 2017. Since then staff have carried out a variety of fund-raising events including sponsored bike rides, car washing days and a Tough Mudder Challenge.

The cheque was handed over to St Giles Hospice corporate fundraiser Samantha Nicolson. She said: “St Giles Hospice would like to say a big thank you and well done to everyone at Spire Little Aston Hospital for their phenomenal fundraising efforts.

“The vital support of organisations and families in our community makes a vast difference to the work we are able to do.

“St Giles supports over 7,000 people each year facing the challenge of a potentially terminal illness. But there are at least another 1,000 people in the community who could benefit from our support if the funds were available, so the generous help of Spire Little Aston is extremely welcome.”

Spire Little Aston’s hospital director Richard Foulkes said: “We were delighted to partner with St Giles and I am really proud at how our staff responded to the various charity challenges.

“St Giles is a terrific organisation and we are fully aware of the great work they do in our local community so it was actually an honour to be able to work with them to raise much needed cash.”
