Andy Ansell will take on the role for the 150-acre site, looking after the management of the built and landscape estate.

He joins the arboretum from green space specialist Glendale.

Andy said: “I’m proud to have joined the already impressive team at the arboretum, the nation’s year-round centre of remembrance.

“Everyone is continually striving to deliver a first-class visitor experience and I’m delighted to take on this important role managing the built and landscape estate.”

David Whimpenny, chairman of the National Memorial Arboretum, added: “The arboretum continues to go from strength to strength and our achievements are all thanks to the unyielding efforts of our dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

“At this crucial stage in the arboretum’s development Andy offers the perfect blend of experience and vision to assist our team as the site continues to evolve and grow, providing essential leadership as we develop and implement our ambitious landscape masterplan.”
