A new school in Lichfield has given a sneak peek of what students will see when it throws open the doors to pupils in September.

Streethay Primary School has been built as part of the Roman Heights development.

Staff will begin working from the site later this month.

Newly-appointed headteacher Stuart Taylor, said: “It is a really exciting time for us as we move into the new build, grow the school team and prepare to welcome our first cohort of pupils in September.”

Families of children starting the school have been invited to taster days to help meet their new class-mates.

Mr Taylor added: “We are looking forward to working with pupils and their families to create an innovative learning environment which nurtures social and emotional development, as well as academic performance.”

Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said: “It’s fantastic to have been part of this project to bring a new school to the local community in Streethay.

“Our Roman Heights and Cathedral View developments have been hugely popular with families, so this is really going to be a welcome addition to the new neighbourhood.

“Our team can’t wait to see the teaching staff and the pupils enjoying their first lessons in the brand new classrooms in September and we wish them every success for the future.”
