Organisers of Burntwood’s Play in the Parks scheme have hailed this year’s event as another success.
Burntwood Town Council said more people than ever attending the local sessions.
The initiative saw hundreds of families enjoy free attractions at parks around the town.
Chairman of the council’s community and partnerships committee, Cllr Darren Ennis said: “It was another great summer of Play in the Parks, showing great teamwork between the Council and their key partners to make sure the day is full of activities.
“Even with the mixed weather we managed to pull off seven out of eight events and it was brilliant to attend a few of these event and see such a buzzing atmosphere full of smiling faces and happy families.
“We were especially pleased to have strengthened the partnerships we’ve formed with organisations like Spark, St John’s Church, Beacon Church and Fun Club who pulled out the stops to add to the events and we hope to build on this in the future.”
Cllr Laura Ennis, who attended all of this year’s sessions, added: “Apart from just one session, the weather has been kind to us and it’s been really good to join with local families to enjoy the activities on offer.
“Play in the Parks is becoming part of the summer holiday calendar and the town council is grateful for the hard work of all of our partners, sponsors and the public who made everything possible.”
