Lichfield City FC kept their FA Cup run firmly on track with a 3-0 win over Haughmond.

A crowd of more than 100 were on hand to see Jay Hawkins side claim victory in their Preliminary Round tie.

Goalkeeper Adam Jenkins had to be alert to keep the scores level early on after Haughton broke the offside trap.

But City began to find their feet as the half wore on with Jordan Evans firing into the side netting.

Jenkins again saved well as both sides looked for the breakthrough, while McLeod kept Haughton on their toes by winning a series of set piece headers.

The opening goal eventually came when Andrew Davis fired home from distance just before half time.

Lichfield had to be alert to retain their lead after the break as Jenkins tipped an effort over the bar.

Haughton were having the better of the early second half exchanges but we’re hit with a sucker punch when a jinking run by Luke Childs saw the ball find Dan Thurstance who found the bottom corner of the net.

The goal put the wind in Lichfield’s sails as Childs forced a good save before Evans saw his header hit the bar.

The win was wrapped up when Brad Rolston found Dan Sheppard who slotted past the keeper.
