Children have taken up their places at a new Lichfield school.
Streethay Primary School welcomed the first new students earlier this month.
A staggered intake will eventually see 236 places offered for local children at the site created as part of the new Roman Heights housing development.
The school – which is managed by the Shaw Education Trust – features nine classrooms, a hall and an outside multi-use games space.
Ed Wootton, regional director at Seddon which carried out the construction work , said: “We’ve created a facility where the young people of Streethay can learn, develop and grow.
“We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved, and the new school will not only provide quality primary education, but will also be at the heart of the new community as it develops and grows.”
The school currently has nursery, reception and year one classes, with more to come on line during the coming years.
