A team of Lichfield volunteers have taken part in the final round of the British Pedal Car Championships.
The group, from Lichfield Re:Cycle, rode their home-made car for seven hours at Curborough Sprint Car.
In that time, they covered 83 miles between the team of four drivers.
The car was designed and fabricated by one of the city charity’s volunteers and materials and time were donated by local businesses to help make this project a reality.
A spokesperson said: “The trustees of Lichfield Re:Cycle would like to thank local businesses Tuke & Bell, Millennium Bearings, Midtherm Laser, Yates Engineering, Run & Ride and Secura Labels.
“Plans are already being made to enter the car into more races in 2020.”
Lichfield Re:Cycle restore bikes and loan them for free to people who need them. They also organise events, rides and confidence building training.
