A team of canvassers will be visiting properties in Lichfield and Burntwood to help complete the electoral register.

Lichfield District Council started the annual exercise in the summer, sending out around 46,000 household enquiry forms.

But to make sure no one who is eligible to vote is missed off the electoral register, the council sent reminders out to households that had not returned their forms – and where responses still haven’t been received, canvassers will call at properties from 28th October.

Diane Tilley, electoral registration officer for Lichfield District Council, said: “It is particularly important to remember that if you want to have your say at election time and help choose the people that make decisions that affect your everyday life, you must be registered to vote.”

The new electoral register will be published on 1st December.
