Time is running out for parents in Lichfield and Burntwood to apply for secondary school places.

Staffordshire County Council is giving families until 31st October to make selections for September 2020 starters.

The council said more than three-quarters of parents have already applied – but more than 2,000 children are yet to have applications made.

Cllr Philip White, Cabinet member for learning and employability, said: “Last year, 90% of parents in Staffordshire were allocated their first preference school, with 97% allocated one of their top three schools.

“I would urge the parents who haven’t applied for a place yet to do so through Staffordshire County Council’s website before the closing date, to give them the best chance of being allocated one of their top three schools.”
