Two senior council officials are leaving their roles.

Director of transformation and resources Neil Turner and Richard King, director of place and community, will both be leaving their posts before the new year.
The local authority would neither comment on the departures or confirm if direct replacements would be sought for the duo.
The departures are the latest in a slew of changes at the senior levels of the council, with Cllr Doug Pullen replacing long-term leader Cllr Mike Wilcox following the local elections – a move which also lead to significant changes within the Cabinet team.
Posh job titles but what do they do, perhaps the jobs could be combined and replaced with one person or even nobody
Trouble at the mill… ?!
Crikey. And with a possible General Election in the immediate offing.
Both of these officers have had leading roles in organisation of previous elections. This could be interesting…
They could possibly still be involved with the election in December. With Ms Tilley at the helm it will run smoothly, let’s just hope people will be bothered to vote after the election team have given their all to get it all organised. Mike, look at LDCs website to get information on the roles of the Leadership team.
Leading rolls in organising elections. Elections have been going on donkeys years all they have to do is look up what they did for the last one
I’m guessing that you haven’t ever been involved in running one, Mike.
Mike, it isn’t that simple. If only you knew! Maybe you should put yourself forward as a poll clerk as a start. Over the ‘donkeys years’ that elections have been taking place, a lot has changed so it’s not a one size fit all approach, as Assellus will no doubt agree. The election team are all excellent at their jobs and so any election will dealt with professionally whatever happens with the leadership team posts.
The elections run like a well oiled machine. Losing either or both those 2 won’t make any difference.
Jen as we have elections about every 4 years what do those to characters do the rest of the time. Probably non jobs, for some strange reason job titles get longer when I first started work at a very large company we had a personnel manager now it is HR department how ever did we manage back in the “old days”?
Mike, they are Directors of various departments due to the merging of directorates some time ago. The number of Directors were reduced and the two remaining handle the whole authority between them, along with the CE. There is a Leadership Team which includes the two Directors, this is why their titles are now longer, as they are responsible for more areas. Check out their roles and responsibilities on the site this will give you an idea of the vast amount of work that LDC handle. Glad to help.
They have now gone , all very quietly done..
