Pupils have been showing off their science skills at a Burntwood school.

Springhill Primary Academy welcomed families and friends of students for a special science fair.

Youngsters from reception class to year six took part by creating projects at home to showcase their learning.

Head Nikita Silvester-Grant said: “It was a fantastic event which was well attended by lots of parents, grandparents and members of the community.

“Pupils explained their models to their peers and adults and displayed all of their learning.

“The children investigated each others projects and voted for ‘The Best Scientific Model’ and also ‘The Best Scientific Demonstration’. Prizes will be awarded after half term.

“The aim of the science fair is to encourage all of our pupils to become scientists and engage fully in their learning in our new curriculum.

“Both children and teachers enjoyed the fair and are looking forward to next year already.”
