Poet Jess Green is bringing her lyrical look at modern politics to Lichfield.
The Hub at St Mary’s will welcome her Self Help Guide to Being in Love with Jeremy Corbyn show to the city on 8th December.
As well as playing to sell out crowds at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe, the show has also netted Jess the title of BBC Poetry Slam Champion.
The former school librarian shot to prominence in 2014 when her poem about Michael Gove made headlines.
Jess has gone on to take her poetry about education to venues across the UK – and she admits that having experiences “the downfall of Blair, the disappointment of Brown and the monolith of Miliband” she’s now renewed her love affair with the Labour Party, having first joined at university in 2007.
A spokesperson said: “After a decade of keeping her membership card firmly at the back of her wallet, she’s fallen head over heels in love with Corbyn’s raw socialist magnetism.
“A Self Help Guide to Being in Love with Jeremy Corbyn sees Jess ask how the party will ever win another general election when the left is so divided.”
Tickets for Jess’ show in Lichfield are £12. To book, visit The Hub at St Mary’s website.
