Lichfield City FC climbed to second place in the table with a win over Brocton.
Jay Hawkins’ men leapfrogged their opponents in the Midland Football League Division One thanks to two second half goals.
A cagey opening period saw City have the better of proceedings, but Brocton keeper Henry Smith did well to deny Kienan Palmer and Kyle Patterson.
The breakthrough came eight minutes after the turnaround when Dan Sheppard got on the end of a deep cross to prod the ball home.
The crucial second goal came with 18 minutes left on the clock when Palmer was given time in the box to fire home.
The result sees Lichfield move within eight points of leaders Leicester Road, with two games in hand on the league leaders.
