St Giles Hospice is hosting a number of Light Up A Life Services across the region.

They include outdoor services at the hospice in Whittington at 6.30pm on 5th December, and one at Lichfield Cathedral at the same time on 8th December.

People who have dedicated a light on one of the charity’s Christmas trees are invited to see their lights being switched on.

Director of fundraising for St Giles Hospice, Elinor Eustace, said: “Christmas is a time to celebrate – however, we also know it can be a particularly difficult time of year as we remember the loved ones who can’t be with us.

“At St Giles Hospice we recognise that many of our families like to come together to remember family and friends who are no longer with us and we encourage people to make a dedication and join us at one of our services.

“Our Light up a Life services are open to everyone, not just for those who have been supported by St Giles and they give people the opportunity to reflect, and honour the memory of their loved ones.

“They also help us to raise vital funds for the hospice and enable us to continue caring for those people in the local community who need us, when they need us most.”
