A group of travellers who moved onto a Lichfield park are beginning to leave the site.

Lichfield District Council served a notice on them yesterday to leave Stychbrook Park by 10am today (12th May).

Some caravans have already left, with police on site to ensure the order is carried out.

Their departure comes after reports of damage to the park and COVID-19 guidelines being breached after the play area – which has been cordoned off – was being used by children from the traveller group.

They had previously been on land at Lichfield City FC before moving to the park.
