Shops in Burntwood are being asked to get in the festive spirit with a competition to find the best window dressing.

The contest has been launched by Burntwood Town Council.

Cllr Darren Ennis said:

“Unfortunately, we will not be able to host our normal Christmas lights switch-on events around the town due to COVID-19 restrictions, so we are planning other ways to celebrate.

“Burntwood residents will hopefully be shopping locally this Christmas, so the council wants to give families a reason to come to our shops and see the amazing decorations and what businesses have to offer.”

Cllr Darren Ennis, Burntwood Town Council

Judging for the competition will take place from 7th December with the overall winner announced on 19th December.

Businesses wanting to take part can post their photos on social media tagging @BurntwoodTownCouncil on Facebook or @BurntwoodTC on Twitter.

Sorry but that seems to me typical council put the expense on to someone else, if towns can prepare football pitches for matches the council can erect a tree and a few lights
