A Lichfield coffee shop is offering people the chance to “pay it forward” and support those using a local food bank.
Melbourne, on Bird Street, says customers will be able to help those facing challenges caused by the cost of living crisis.
It comes as Lichfield Foodbank revealed a huge increase in the number of people using its service in the last year.
A spokesperson for Melbourne said:
“Lots of our customers will ‘pay it forward’ and pay for the drink of the person behind them in the queue – starting this month, we’re going to be paying it forward with the Lichfield Foodbank.
“People can buy one of our tokens or gift cards to be donated to the food bank to allow anyone going through a tough time to enjoy a treat with us.
“And during May, we’ll match all cards or tokens donated by our customers.”Melbourne spokesperson
