Plans for a new memorial to honour military personnel from the Caribbean have been unveiled.

If approved, The National Caribbean Monument Charity hopes to put the monument, depicting four servicemen and women at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas.
A spokesperson said:
“On discovering that there is no positive memorial for Caribbean military service personnel at the National Memorial Arboretum, we have embarked on a project to raise awareness and educate the general public.
“This monument will be in recognition of their contributions and sacrifices to Britain and to create a lasting legacy for present and future generations through educational programs in schools, faith groups, community centres and other organisations.”

An online fundraising campaign has also been launched to help fund the new memorial.
