A new chairperson has been appointed at Burntwood Town Council.

Cllr Rob Birch will take up the role for the coming year after being nominated by outgoing chair Cllr Di Evans.

Cllr Birch said:

“I am honoured to have been selected as the chairperson of Burntwood Town Council and I look forward to representing the town and supporting the work of the councillors and volunteers across our town during the coming year.

“I have chosen Papyrus as the my charity. Papyrus was set up to prevent suicide in young people and offer mental health support to young people and their families.

“This is an important cause and I hope to be able to raise funds for Papyrus and support their important work.”
