Early One Morning by Diane Griffiths - winner of the 2021 L2F art competition

People are being invited to get creative as an art competition launches to coincide with the Lichfield L2F Festival.

The theme for the contest is ‘Freedom’, with people invited to submit works no larger than A1 in any format other than photography.

All shortlisted entries will be exhibited in an exhibition at the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum from 8th to 16th October as part of the festival.

Competition organiser Lynda English said:

“In the past we have been overwhelmed by the quality of the artwork submitted to the competition, which has attracted entrants from all over the country.

“This is a great opportunity to put brush to canvas or pencil to paper to create an image for the theme – and for the opportunity to see your artwork on display in the refined surroundings of Dr Johnson’s Birthplace.”

The competition opens for entries tomorrow (16th May) with a closing date of 1st August.

All entries must contain the artist’s name, address, phone number and email address, details of the medium used and approximate size.

For full details about the competition, and the entry form visit the Lichfield Arts website.
