A Lichfield retailer has agreed to expand an agreement which sees a delivery company provide grocery shopping to the door for customers.

Central England Co-op had initially trialled the link-up with Just Eat from ten of its stores in February.

But the company has now decided to roll-out the programme to more outlets, including the Curborough Road shop in Lichfield.

Claire Koziol, head of stores at Central England Co-op, said:

“We’re excited to be extending our partnership with Just Eat to give our customers and members in even more locations an easy way to get their groceries delivered to their door in quick time.

“We are committed to making it as easy as possible for our customers to shop with us and this partnership gives us the opportunity to not only provide another option for our communities but also work with a recognised and respected brand in home delivery.”

The system allows shoppers to choose from more than 2,000 items using the app which are picked and packed before being collected by a delivery driver.

Andrew Kenny, managing director in the UK at Just Eat, said:

“We’re excited to further expand Just Eat’s grocery offering.

“This partnership with Central England Co-op marks the next stage in Just Eat’s commitment to delivering the best service and range of options for our customers.”

  1. Let’s hope the drivers won’t be hanging around outside intimidating people, smoking and parking their foreign cars by large plant pots, eh 😉

  2. Presumably if they use British cars that’s ok then. But surely many “British” cars are made outside of the UK! As for parking them near large plant pots, that is so unbritish!!
