Three new homes could be built on land in Burntwood if the scheme is given the go-ahead by planners.

An application has been submitted to construct the two-bedroom properties on the plot next to 18 Summerfield Road.

The site is currently an area of garden land.

A planning statement said:

“The proposed design of the houses and materials used will be in keeping with the adjacent properties.”

  1. I remember a time when this land was public and used as parking for residents before it was fenced off and claimed as garden land.

  2. Originally (c1971) it should have had 2 houses built on it, but the builders messed up, hence the allocated garage spaces round the back don’t line up with the back gardens, the land had no owners so people used to park their cars on there, till it was fenced off and claimed by someone living at one the adjacent properties.

  3. Crazy,
The parking in these roads is already at unacceptable levels on the road and footpaths, people with caravans on the house front then using the road for parking rather than the rear of the properties. In the event of something serious, I fear the emergency services getting through. Fitting 3 houses on to such a small piece of land is madness.
