Police are appealing for information after rubbish was set on fire in Beacon Park overnight.
The blaze was lit next to a tree and officers say they are keen to find out who was responsible.
PCSO Deryn Small, from Staffordshire Police, said:
“Reports state that unknown persons have thrown rubbish near to one of the trees by the playground and used this to start the fire.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 106 of 25th May.
What an absolute disgrace. I’ve said it before and will say it again, this kind of yobbish behaviour seems to be on the rise in Lichfield. Just walking around the place I see it more and more often. Why would you want to ruin Beacon Park? I really hope these cretins get caught.
