Road closed sign

People are being reminded that a number of road closures will be in place across Lichfield and Burntwood as communities celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

As well as major events such as the Lichfield Bower, street parties will also be taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend from 2nd to 5th June.

Closures for the Lichfield Bower include:

  • Lower Bore Street and Market Street will be closed to all traffic including bicycles between 9am and 4.30pm on 2nd June.
  • Market Street will be closed to all traffic including bicycles between 10am on 3rd June and 7.30pm on 4th June.
  • Breadmarket Street, Bore Street, Conduit Street, Dam Street, Tamworth Street and Greenhill (from its junction with Tamworth Street to its junction with Birmingham Road) will be closed to all traffic including bicycles between 9am and 6pm on 4th June.
  • Bird Street and Beacon Street (from its junction with Bird Street to its junction with Gaia Lane) will be closed to all traffic including bicycles, except those vehicles requiring access to premises in Bird Street, Beacon Street, The Close and Market Street between 10am to 5pm on 4th June.
  • Frog Lane, St John Street (from its junction with The Friary to its junction with Birmingham Road), The Friary (from Bowling Green Island to the junction with St John Street) Swan Road (from its junction with The Friary to its junction with Bird Street/Beacon Street) and Wade Street, will be closed to all traffic including bicycles between 10.30am and 2pm on 4th June.
  • Walsall Road (from its junction with Western Bypass to Queen Street), Queen Street, Sandford Street and Lower Sandford Street will be closed to all traffic including bicycles between 12noon and 2.30pm on 4th June.
  • Cherry Orchard (from its junction with Upper St John Street to its junction with Sturgeons Hill) will be closed to traffic including bicycles between 7am and 5pm on 4th June (access only).
  • Bunkers Hill car park will be closed to traffic between 7pm on 3rd June and 7am on 5th June.
  • Bird Street car park will be closed to traffic – except those vehicles carrying goods for delivery to premises in Market Street – between 4.30pm on 1st June and midnight on 5th June.
  • Shaw Lane car park will be closed to traffic except for disabled users between 7am and 9pm on 4th June.

    the junction with Curborough Road), Lichfield, 3rd June – 10am till 10pm
  • St Anne’s Close, Burntwood, 4th June – 12noon till 7pm
  • Dama Road, Fazeley, 4th June – 12noon till 9pm
  • Blenheim Road, Burntwood, 4th June – 2pm till 11.59pm
  • Manor Lane and Manor Close, Harlaston– 4th June – 2pm to 8pm
  • Merlin Way, Whittington, 4th June – 3pm till 6pm
  • Blandford Gardens, Burntwood, 5th June – 12noon till 5pm 
  • Cromwells Meadow, Lichfield, 5th June  11.30am till 4pm
  • Chadswell Heights (between the two junctions with Spring Road), Lichfield, 5th June – 11am till 9pm

  • Lawnswood Avenue, Burntwood (from the junction with Copthorne Avenue to

  • Larkspur Avenue, Burntwood (from its junction with Hillcrest Rise to its
    junction with Overhill Road), 5th June – 11am till 8pm
